A tested and proven efficiency
In 1997, Professor Sender, treated 16 newborns at l'hôpital Saint-Antoine in Paris with Bilicrystal I.V. intensive phototherapy system Table 1 and 2 show the ages of young patients and the levels of bilirubin in their blood at the moment treatment was begon.
Table 1 Table 2
Table 1 : Babys' ages when test started.
Table 2 : Bilirubin levels when test started.
It is important to note that there was a incompatibility in 11 of the 16 babies. For 3 cases the bilirubin levels exceeded the critical threshold of 340µMOL, requiring a transfusion exchange .
Results of the tests are very clear. A rapid decline on the bilirubin levels was observed for 13 cases. The remaining 3 cases, dark-skinned babies in which the decline logically progresses slower due to pigmentation of their skin.
The fact that no baby needed a transfusion exchange shows how efficient the Bilicrystal intensive phototherapy system is.
